When it’s dark and gloomy in the month of December, I like to listen to a good storyteller. Old-Fashioned, yes. But a good story teller brings a little humanity to this world.
One of my favorites was Stuart Mclean. He had the Vinyl Cafe program on CBC. I still like to sit back and listen to some of the funny situations he would come up with, especially if I have to highway drive for a long period of time. He has several of them relating to the Christmas season. You can call up some of his stories on You Tube. Or subscribe to them on CBC. Stuart Mclean passed away in 2017 but his stories are still relevent today.
Some of our friends in the rockhounding community are also good storytellers. If you get a chance, ask them about their favorite find or adventure.
So turn off the games or TV, look up his stories on the internet, grab a hot mulled cider, snuggle under a blanket and give yourself 20 minutes of stories based on a simpler time.
